Swollen nose
After rhinoplasty your nose will be swollen for a couple of weeks and you will have some bruising and probably if someone looked very carefully at your nose they’d see swelling for about six weeks afterwards, so yes, in the early post-operative period, somebody would know you’d had nasal surgery even if they don’t work out that it’s cosmetic nasal surgery.
Goals of surgery
For me the goals of surgery are always to create a natural nose that’s in harmony with the rest in the face and therefore, really on that basis, it’s unusual for our patients to come back and say everybody spotted that I had a rhinoplasty. Often they’ll come back and say, patients thought I’ve been on holiday or that I look well, or that my make up has changed or ooh your hair suits you better and those are the things that really are the outcomes noticed in successful cosmetic rhinoplasty.
Surprising result
As someone said to me before, the result in a successful rhinoplasty is seen in the eyes and patients look fresher, their eyes look brighter, their cheekbones look more attractive and to actually spot in a good natural rhinoplasty result that the nose was been changed is really unusual surprisingly.
