I tell all my patients that rhinoplasty is unpredictable, to some extent. The trouble is that I cannot control everything, I’m very experienced at rhinoplasty and the more experienced you are the more you can control things, but it’s never a hundred percent.

Every nose is different

You can’t predict in advance how the tissues are going to behave with high-quality surgical techniques. The nose with the same technique may change in a different way in one patient to another, that’s particularly true in revision rhinoplasty when we’re dealing with scar. I can’t either control completely how you’re going to heal and that’s probably one of the biggest areas of unpredictability in rhinoplasty.
