After rhinoplasty surgery also commonly known as a nose job/nose surgery you will have a small cast or splint, or sometimes just a light tape dressing on the outside of your nose. Mr Rowe-Jones always tries to avoid putting uncomfortable dressings inside the nose. You may go home the same day, or stay in hospital overnight. Mr Rowe-Jones will then see you back at the clinic a week later with Emma Rowe-Jones when your external splint is removed. We often use dissolvable stitches on the outside of the nose which do not need to be removed as they disappear on their own after a couple of weeks.

1-2 weeks after your rhinoplasty

Following your rhinoplasty you will feel as though you have a heavy cold for about 2 weeks. It is normal to have some swelling and bruising over and around the nose and under the eyes. This is uncomfortable but pain is rare. You are not going to look and feel your best just yet and you should bear this in mind when thinking about social engagements. It is also quite normal to feel more emotional than normal after rhinoplasty. Stress hormones rise with all operations and the build-up to surgery is often accompanied by anxious moments.

8-12 weeks after your rhinoplasty

Mr Rowe-Jones will see you again after 8-12 weeks to check how your nose has healed. “I like to to see you personally and follow your progress regularly for twelve to eighteen months when we should see your final result”.

His rhinoplasty team are always available to support and advise you, both before and after rhinoplasty surgery. For more information, feel free to contact us.
